Home of the Walsh family since 1639

When Oliver Walsh moved from Co. Kilkenny to Ballykilcavan, near Stradbally, Co. Laois in 1639, he can scarcely have imagined that 12 generations later, his family would still be living and working here. Through good times and bad, the house, yards, farmland and woods that make up this scenic part of the midlands of Ireland have made their way down the family tree. With ambitious plans underway, the aim is to create a sustainable future for further generations and for the wider community.
